DRIN

A friend from high school that has since become a well traveled, world educated human being that at the core, has not changed.  She didn't need to change because she was already awesome, but she is more awesome now.
She has seen the world and her appetite for learning and adventure continues to grow despite challenging circumstances, like living in a tent in Alaska for almost a year while working for national parks and naming the power tools Gucci, teaching a classroom of 50 children in Thailand how to speak English, taking firefighting classes in Hawaii, constantly deciding between volunteer work or paid work, but always being drawn to what would be most enriching for her and the community she is about to serve.  This girl's heart is in the right place.


I don't know where she will go next, but I'm honored to have captured even just a few pictures of her present self, in transition, and on a journey to continue to transform her body and mind.   She was always patient, always smiling, and that is how she has always been, even when we got kicked out of the library for taking pictures in there.  We have already set a future shoot date to continue to document the changes and journey.
